Who is Pedsafe?
Pedestrian safety Philippines was created to lower the death statistics related to traffic accidents in the Philippines by educating and providing devices to the public. We are a group of professionals with extensive training and knowledge that aim to instill safer habits in the Filipino pedestrian through providing knowledge and gears to the people and engaging the communities. Trucks, Buses, Jeepneys, Cars, Motocycles, Tricycles, Bicycles and Pedestrians, we all share the road and need to respect each others journey. We need better roads, bicycle lanes, walk paths, pedestrian crossings, safety devices and a common knowledge of safe traffic behavior, and it needs to be implemented by everyone and enforced by the authorities. Safety is everyones responsibility. To avoid to be a victim of an accident we need to work together to create a better system for the travels in our life.

One of the major factors for road accidents is the lack of education on the topic. PedSafePh aims to give everyone the proper education and tools to prevent lives from being lost.

Where we work
PedSafePh will go anywhere in the Philippines needed to spread the awareness and knowledge for Pedestrian Safety. Our main focus being schools and certain businesses, we are also available to do smaller gatherings and speak to anyone who is interested in the cause.
Why do we need this?
1,2 million people die in road accidents every year worldwide and more than 50 million are injured. Road accidents will kill more people than HIV and Malaria togehter by 2015 in the whole world (United Nations). More than 4,000 people die each year at a cost of at least $894 million (P37.5-billion), or 1.2 percent of the Philippines’ Gross Domestic Product (GDP), (UNICEF). The statistics are too high to ignore and too expensive to not do anything about. Aside from a big part of the gross national product being spent on this, you cannot put a price on a human life.
Since the chances of being struck and killed as a pedestrian increase by 1100% after dark (according to the National Safety Council), you should take advantage of the Federal Highway Administration’s statement that reflectorization has been shown to increase the visibility of a pedestrian by a factor of five. In the Scandinavian countries, where reflectors have been used by all members of the population since the early ’60′s, the night time pedestrian accident rate is 50% less than in the United States. In the US, over 60% of pedestrian accidents and deaths occur in the dark says the National Safety Council. Wear or carry a reflector beginning today.
